Xiaomi crash aftermath: Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) said that the Xiaomi electric vehicle involved in a deadly crash over the weekend didn’t have one of its batteries. The SU7 uses batteries made by two firms — a subsidiary of carmaker BYD Co. Ltd. and market leader CATL. In Anhui province on Saturday, an SU7 in assisted driving mode burst into flames after colliding with a concrete barrier. All three occupants were killed. Since the SU7 was launched in March 2024, more than 200,000 of the vehicles have been delivered.
